For those who may not be familiar, Vesak Day (also known as Wesak Day) is a major Buddhist festival celebrated on the day of the first full moon of the ancient lunar month of Vesakha, which usually falls between mid-May and June. Vesak Day commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. They are mainly take place in South-East Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and India.
And during this day , it is time for Buddhists around the world to reflect on the teachings of Buddha and engage in various religious and spiritual activities. It is a day of immense significance, marked by acts of kindness, charity, and compassion. And during this day. they are celebrated with the temple visits, offerings, releasing of animals, charity as well as processions.
It is not only the time for celebration but also for introspection and mindfulness. It encourages individuals to reflect on their own lives, practice compassion, and strive for inner peace and enlightenment.
